WHAT I WORE TO LONDON FASHION WEEK

I’m writing this post from the train. I have a belly fully of pizza, the top button of my jeans is undone and oh, I’m wearing last night’s pyjama top as a cute blouse because that’s just how I’m rolling these days.

No, you’re rock and roll.

So yeah, moving swiftly on to my fashion week outfit.

For some weird, crazy, must-be-a-mistake reason, I was invited to Mulberry’s AW17 show on Sunday, so decided that ABSOLUTELY YES I WILL BE THERE AND SHOULD I WEAR A BALLGOWN.

Mostly because it’s nice to have an excuse to get out of the house and out of my trackie bottoms, but also because the first designer handbag I ever really pined for was a bright fuchsia pink Mulberry Bayswater, and so I owed it to my 18-year-old-self to get my toosh down there.

And so, after one lift to the station (thanks Christopher Coleman), one train, one rail replacement bus, two tubes and an Uber, I found myself walking through swarms of paparazzi and street style photographers into the show feeling like an abso fraud.

(I couldn’t find my seat, I got mildly freaked, and so I hovered like an awkward ferret at the back of the stands – from what I peaked through the rows of people, there are some v cute circle handbags coming to Mulberry for autumn…)

I’M NOT COOL. I’M NOT HIP. I’M NOT HAPPENING.

But despite that, I did quite like my outfit. It felt very me. I mean, probs not all that fashion week because everyone’s into suit trousers and white trainers, but me.

The pink. The leopard print. The strappy studded sandals. All very HG to the max.

The blush blazer was a bargain sale buy from ASOS (from £55 down to £16.50, can I get an AMEN?), which, if you spied my YouTube haul earlier this month, you’ll already have seen me prancing about in. Whilst the leopard t-shirt dress is also from ASOS – and I nipped it in with a little belt to make it more flattering.

The sandals are from River Island and they’re on my feet as I type, and have been for the past 24 hours and OH MY there’s not a blister in sight, so I think we’re going to get on very well this spring.

And then, well, there’s my hair. Which, even after half a bottle of dry shampoo refused to behave itself and stay in cute waves. But hey, you can’t have everything, right?
